Dear Family Members: Bernard and I are very sorry to hear about Jack's passing. Unfortunately we were in Toronto, staying with Philip and his wife Sheila. Their son Daniel was married in New York City, on September 15th and Bernard and I didn't attend the ceremony, but they had another celebration in Toronto on December 1st. Daniel works in Bill de Blassio's office as an Urban Planner and his wife works in Public Health. And we also attended Philip's Legal History Book Launch on December 3rd. The title of his book is: A History of Law in Canada 1500-2000, European Contact To The End of the 20th Century. We are very sorry for your Loss. Sincerely, Bernard and Veronica Girard

Phyllis, Mary and families: I am so sorry to hear of Jack's passing. I remember Jack at the High School Reunion and had a good visit with him then. He was a respected ambassador for Merlin. Keep family and friends close and memories will lighten your sorrow.

My sincere condolences to Jack's Family. I've had the privilege of working with Jack when I was a summer student at the Murray Bowman Funeral Home driving the hearse when Secord and Parker Funeral Home had services. He was a great man and an awesome mentor. I will always remembered his grand sense of humor and a new joke each time I saw him. Even when I attended Humber College in Toronto, Jack would visit on and off to say hello. Jack was a true man of the trade who took he's profession seriously. Phyllis and Mary, I am sorry to hear of Jack's passing. I have many good memories of our friendship growing up in Merlin. Playing cards at your house or ours. Being rival paper boys - Jack with the Chatham News and me with the Windsor Star. Our bike hikes out to Lake Erie. Jack was in Dianne's and my wedding party and was a life saver when he retrieved my wallet that I had forgotten at the photographer's. Jack and I didn't see each other often over the years because we were living in different places. But we did have a good visit at the Merlin High School reunion a few years ago. Just this past winter Jack made a generous donation to "New Socks for Cold Feet" a project of our Rotary Club of Toronto Bay-Bloor to help homeless people here in Toronto. He served his community well as a reassuring presence for so many others at their times of loss. He'll be missed.
