Being independent means something different to each one of us. From the senior who needs assistance in their home with some light housekeeping and personal support, to the newly widowed gentleman who finds himself in need of socialization and new life skills. Being independent builds pride and confidence, and helps maintain motivation to stay healthy and connected with our community. Every day, the volunteers and staff at Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) Middlesex-Elgin help people in our community live safely and independently at home for as long as possible. As a charitable organization we rely on donations and community support to develop and maintain our existing services; serve clients who cannot afford to pay; and develop new services in response to the ever-changing needs of our community.
