After a great life of family, friends, hot rods and music, the family of Ricky Lou (Rick) Van Acker of Rodney are heartbroken to announce his passing in his 75th year on Saturday December 31, 2022 in Rodney, Ontario.  Born February 9th, 1948 in Chatham, Ontario to the late Louis and Donna Van Acker (Tunks) and son-in-law of the late Dan and Olga Perovich.

Rick was the beloved husband for 52 years to Lillian (Lily) Perovich of Rodney.  Loving father to Vicky (the late Greg Stevenson) and Melanie and Steve Rose of West Lorne. Proud Papa to Allison, Katelyn, Derek and Samantha.

Brother of the late Rene (Peg), Rod (Marilyn), Robin (Cindy), Lorrie and LuAnne (Scott).  Brother-in-Law of Alex, Mary (Jerry) and Mike (Trish). Leaving behind many cherished nieces and nephews, and his little fur baby, Bailey. He will be fondly remembered by his NAPA family.

Rick was a talented musician, who will be remembered for performing in various local bands, coaching baseball, restoring hot rods and going to car shows and swap meets with Rene and Steve.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation in Rick’s honour on Saturday January 7th, 2023 from 12-2pm at Denning's of Rodney, where a memorial service will take place immediately following at 2pm. The family invites you to attend an on-site reception following the service. Private family interment will follow in the spring.

Memorial contributions to The Canadian Lung Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as your expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers.
