Our deepest condolences to the entire Van Acker Family and all of their Friends ! Rick was a Quality Guy who I lost touch with since our High School Band Days ! He was a man of many talents and will leave us with many fond memories of years gone past ! May he Rest In Peace along with his Beautiful Brother Rene ! Dear Lily and the entire extended family, our heartfelt condolences. We were so looking forward to enjoying our neighbors as we transitioned into Rodney. Both Rick and Lily shared their wisdom and kindness. Rick would proudly, drive his "Hot Rod" to our cabin all of four hundred meters to share a beverage. Infectious smile, great stories and a truly genuine person. There is one magical memory that will always haunt me for not telling Rick how much it meant to us. As we finished work each weekend cleaning up scrub on our land next to Rick and Lily's home the late evening exhaustion kicked in. Quick dinner and then resting sore muscles with gentle fire. Suddenly we realize the sound of a private concert was coming through the forest. Classic song after song played through the cedars and pines as sun set, bats danced for their evening meals and thousands of stars alighted the forest. We listened and smiled. Rick we will miss you. We had a great time playing music with one of the greatest local heroes of our time!! I laughed and I cried and laughed again with Rick! I first met Rick when we entered high-school in West Lorne. I thought he was the coolest and handsomest guy around, and, he played guitar!
