Obituary of Ronald Marentette
Ronald Marentette peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 15th, 2019 at his home, surrounded by family, while listening to his favourite jazz mix, at the age of 82. He was a loving husband to Mary for over 53 years. His sons Scott and Drew will miss his humor and guidance. He is survived by his sister Mary. Loved by his grandchildren Haley, Zach, Joe, Nick, Hunter, Ethan and Madeline.
Ron was an educator for over 33 years with a focus in Guidance. Once retired, he was involved in adult literacy and worked for the Federal Government overseeing appeals with Employment Insurance dispute.
In his leisure time he stayed busy with his tennis crew. He enjoyed the tennis group on and off the court. Cards were also a big part of his leisure time, he loved bridge, euchre, cribbage and poker.
A Memorial Service will be held at DENNING'S OF CHATHAM (519-352-2390), 4 Victoria Avenue, on Tuesday, May 21st, 2019 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ronald's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Princess Margaret Hospital Cancer Foundation or Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
