Obituary of Franklin Barnes

Quietly went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012 at North Lambton Lodge in Forest, Ray Barnes of Arkona in his 85th year. Ray is survived by loving wife Cathy and by his step-son Ken (Debra) Maxfield of Sarnia, daughter Betty (Larry) Bourassa of Sarnia, and daughter Susan (Derek) Bannard of Calgary. Ray is predeceased by his parents Frank and Ivy Barnes and by his daughter Brenda Hopkins. Also survived by son-in-law Richard Hopkins. Ray will be remembered by his brother Glen (Marjorie) Barnes of Arkona and predeceased by sisters Leila (Emrys) Vaughan and the Rev. Phyllis Barnes. Ray will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Shawn and Lori Maxfield and Samantha Emily Bannard and by his great granddaughter Olivia Maxfield. Ray was a proud Market Gardener for his entire life, selling his produce at the Sarnia Market. Visitation will be held at the FOREST CHAPEL of DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS on Thursday, April 5th, 2012 from 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, April 6th, at 2pm with Pastor Jonathan Ferrier officiating. Interment to follow at Arkona Cemetery.
