Linda Kusters posted a condolence

My heartfelt and with my deepest sympathy to the entire family. I will always remember Professor Frank Dolan as an intelligent, caring and supporting man. I have worked at UWO for over 32 years now and he has and will always be my favourite professor. He always talked about his family and I admired him for that. Whenever he came into our office, he would lift our spirits and made us laugh at just about anything! I enjoyed reading all the comments and I could picture him throwing that poor kid into the pool on his birthday! That was Frank and I am glad he never changed his ways. It is hard to believe he his gone from this earth forever. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children and grandchildren during this very difficult time. Sincerely, Linda (Fullerton) and Frank Kusters, sons Andrew and Adam Colvin

Frankie was the laughing, loving, kind uncle of my childhood. I am deeply saddened at his loss. I will cherish my memories of him and always remember the many quotes, the great love of learning, the fun and "the essence of things unseen". Karen

I knew Frank both as a prof and later a colleague and his passion for learning and life was something I greatly admired. He was a great friend who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. He had little time for fools and did not suffer them well. He had a huge number of interests and he excelled in mastering most. The thing I will miss most is that impish smile that was often on his face. To his family, please accept our heartfelt condolences. He will be sorely missed John Fracasso / Cathy Saunders London

Dear Margaret, Pat, Michele, David & Kathy, I have very fond memories of Uncle Frankie visiting Mother (Mary) in Winnipeg and keeping all us 'kids' in stitches and very hyped. You are all feeling sad now, but you will remember the good times, and you will smile. My deepest sympathy to each of you. Sincerely, Sharon

Frankie held a very special place in my heart and he will definitely be missed. He was always generous with his compliments and entertaining with his stories. One of my favorite pictures was taken of me dancing with Frankie at my wedding. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. Love, Arlene

Please know that Frank will be missed by all in our West Lorne Parkinson's Support Group family. I had the distinct pleasure of getting to know Frank over the past year and a half-he was the driving force behind getting a Support Group started in this area. A beautiful article was wrote on Frank in the latest edition of the Parkinson's Update Magazine highlighting his commitment to not letting this disorder define his existence. He had Parkinson's...but it didn't have him. Tracey Jones

I will miss my Uncle Frank very much. He was closer in age and in attitude to people of my generation than to my father, his brother. He would use the family directory that I authored to call people up, and he thanked me profusely for it. Always, he had an entertaining story, and was full of wisdom. Sitting with Frank at the wedding of his son, David, in Montreal, is something that I will never forget. My father, Desmond, was a bit jealous of Frank, being the youngest son, feeling that Frank had been able to get out of the hardest farm work. Frank would bait my father about subjects like religion, saying things that he knew my father would disagree with, just to get a rise out of my father. I wish I could have my Uncle Frank back to talk to him a bit more.

I was so sorry to hear the news of Uncle Frankie's death. In 1998 my family travelled across Canada. As part of the trip we spent a few nights with Frankie. The visit was one of the highlights of my kids’ trip. The day we arrived was Patrick's 7th birthday. Frankie being Frankie had consulted the Dolan book so he knew it was his birthday. Right after we arrived, Frankie took us for a tour of the place. As part of the tour we went into the pool area. While in the pool area Frankie picks Pat up (fully clothed) and throws him in the water and said happy birthday. The kids thought that was the funniest thing. They still talk about it. We visited Frankie again a few years later when Chris was attending the Canada Games in London. Again the kids had a great trip. We will all miss Frankie. He was an excellent story teller and a great host.
