Obituary of Ernest Hollands

Ernest (Ernie) Alfred Hollands, 84, of Sarnia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Bluewater Health, Sarnia. Loving husband of Karen Morrison and the late Betty (Wereley) Hollands, 2002. Dear father of Elizabeth Miller (Raymond Parker) of Bright and Barbara Davie (Bruce) of Plattsville. Stepfather of Susan Gerliep (Derek Joanisse) and Heather Gerleip (Matthew Hodgins), both of Sarnia. Ernie will be remembered and missed by his 4 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, his loving sister Edith Luther of Toronto, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Ernest Hollands Jr. (2006), his parents, Henry and Edith Hollands, and 7 of his siblings. Ernie served in the Royal Canadian Navy and Army and was very proud to be Veteran of the Korean War. He spent many years being employed as a Stationary Engineer until he retired. Ernie had a passion for fishing and woodworking. The funeral will be on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 2pm at the FOREST CHAPEL OF DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS (9 James St. S.) with visitation one hour prior (1-2pm). Interment in Beechwood Cemetery.
