Obituary of Hazel Graham
Peacefully at Bethany Lodge, Unionville (just north of Toronto) on Friday morning, July 30, 2010. Hazel Margaret Graham of Kintyre in her 95th year. Hazel was born in Westminster Township on August 25, 1915. She was the eldest daughter of eight children, born to Grace Millicent Marsh and George Charles Johnston, who farmed in Dunwich Township.
Loving wife of Cameron D. Graham (1973) and devoted mother of Mary Grace and son-in-law Keith Doner of Toronto. Hazel is predeceased by 4 brothers - Leslie (1944), Chester (1963),
Donald (2003) and Roy (2009) and sisters Mildred Horton (2003), Jean Johnston (2009) and Eva Cook (2010). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Hazel attended Argyle School and Argyle Presbyterian church when she was growing up in Dunwich. She later married and attended Kintyre Presbyterian Church where she was a member for over 50 years.
Hazel went to Business College in Chatham and upon graduation worked in the Payroll Department at International Harvester, Chatham, for over 12 years. In 1950 she married Cameron and moved to the Graham family farm at Kintyre. Hazel enjoyed over 50 years on the farm and in 2000 moved to the Kiwanis Seniors Apartment where she made many friends. For the past 3.5 years, Hazel lived at Bethany Lodge in Unionville, just outside Toronto. She thoroughly enjoyed keeping in touch with her friends and family from back home.
Friends may call at the Rodney Chapel on Tuesday, August 3 from 7 - 9 p.m. A celebration of Hazel's life will be on Wednesday, August 4 at 2 p.m.
