Obituary of Gerald Richards

Peacefully at North Lambton Lodge on Friday, May 22nd, 2009, Gerald "Gerry" Richards of Forest in his 88th year. Gerry is predeceased by his loving wife Doris (2006) and son Dennis (2006). Survived by children Sharron (Dave) Chamberlain and daughter in law Liz Richards. Sadly missed by 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Survived by sister Marilyn in Michigan. Sgt. Gerry Richards, 17th Duke of York's Royal Canadian Hussars, 7th Reece. Regiment, 1941-1946. Gerry took part in the Normandy Landing at Corsulles Sur-Mer, D-Day, June 6th, 1944 until Mayday, May 4th, 1945. Gerry was a proud lifetime member of the Forest Legion, Br.#176. Gerry was born in Dresden, ON on June 25th, 1921. Memorial Service will be held at the FOREST CHAPEL of Denning Funeral Directors on Tuesday, May 26th, 2009 at 12 noon with visitation one hour prior (11-12). Rev. Cathy Larmond officiating. Private family interment at Dresden Cemetery. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the North Lambton Lodge Auxiliary or the Forest Legion Br. #176 would be greatly appreciated by the family.
