Obituary of Wilf Cassidy

Peacefully at North Lambton Lodge on Saturday, May 16th, 2009. R.W. "Wilf" Cassidy of Forest in his 93rd year. Wilf is predeceased by his loving wife Zelma in 2003 and by children Donald Cassidy (1946), Dorothy Harper(1960) and Bob Cassidy (2009) and by parents Pearl Campbell-Cassidy-Moore (1969) and John Wilfred Cassidy (1933). Wilf is survived by daughter in law Gail Cassidy and grandchildren Gary and Kim Cassidy, Tracey and Paul Hedden all of Forest and Randy Cassidy of Sparta. Wilf is great grandfather to Chantelle, Mitchell, Michael, Aaron and Nicole. Predeceased by grandson Ricky (1962). Wilf was proud to serve as Mayor of Forest in 1962, 63' and 64', proud member of the Forest Rotary club for 38 years and recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award. Wilf was the owner and operator of Cassidy Motors for 40 years selling and servicing Morris, Studebaker, British Motors and American Motors. Wilf continued his career selling used cars from his lot on King St. E. and eventually retired selling cars at Kernohan Motors at the age of 72 so he could spend his winters in Florida with Zelma. Visitation will be held from the FOREST CHAPEL of Denning Funeral Directors on Tuesday, May 19th, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with Funeral Service in the chapel on Wednesday, May 20th at 11am with Rev. Dr. Christine O'Reilly officiating. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery. Donations to the North Lambton Lodge Auxiliary or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
