Obituary of Bob Cassidy

Peacefully at LHSC- University Campus in London, surrounded by his loving family, Robert W. "Bob" Cassidy of Forest, passed away on April 26th, 2009 in his 69th year. Beloved Husband and best friend of Gail Cassidy. Loving Dad of Gary and Kim Cassidy, Tracey and Paul Hedden, all of Forest and Randy Cassidy of Sparta. Predeceased by son Ricky (1962). Cherished Grampa of Chantelle Hedden of Toronto, Mitchell Hedden of Forest and Michael, Aaron and Nicole Cassidy of Forest. Dear son of Wilfred Cassidy and the late Zelma Cassidy (2003) of Forest. Predeceased by sister Dorothy Harper (1960) and brother Donald Cassidy (1947). Bob was Past Master of the Forest Masonic Lodge, No. 263; a life member of St. Simon of Cyrene Preceptory- Knights Templar Sarnia; proud member of Mocha Shriners London and the Royal Canadian Legion, Br.# 176, Forest. He worked as a mechanic for 50 years, until his retirement from the city of Sarnia in 2005. Bob always had a passion for cars; one of his favourites being his 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk. He loved watching the cardinals and goldfinches from the porch of his lifelong home and enjoyed many wonderful scenic vacations with friends and loved ones. Visitation will be held at the Forest Chapel of DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS (James at Watt St.) on Wednesday, April 29th, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9pm with Funeral Service in the chapel on Thursday, April 30th, at 11am. Rev. Dr. Christine O'Reilly officiating. Cremation to follow. Donations to the ALS Society (Lou Gehrig's Disease) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
