Obituary of Edward Lewinsky
Edward Julian Lewinsky, died peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Tuesday February 10, 2009 in his 77th year after a very courageous battle with cancer.
Born on March 10, 1931 in Fort William (now known as Thunder Bay), Ed eventually moved to Mississauga where he married Olga (Ollie) Pinchuk at the St. Diemetrius Ukranian Greek Orthodox Church in November of 1958. He was a devoted and loving husband for over 50 years. Together they moved from Toronto to Wardsville, owned and operated the Wardsville Hotel, the Wardsville Golf and Country Club and more recently, an orchard in Port Glasgow where they have resided for 23 years.
He will be sadly missed by his sons and daughters-in-law Ed and Joanne, Steve and Kelly, Roman and Kim. He was also a wonderful Dido (grandfather) to Kyle, Michael, Kasey, Laurisa, Abby and Brooke. The family will miss him dearly.
Survived by his mother Olga Levinsky, brother Donny Levinsky, and nephews Larry Levinsky and Billy Levinsky, all from Toronto. Predeceased by his father Julian Lewinsky, brother Billy Levinsky and nephew Adam Levinsky.
Known for his wealth of information and quick wit, Ed thrived on politics and history. He shared many well versed stories with family and friends and his voice and words of wisdom with surely be missed. All the mysteries of the world are revealed to him now and he has a front row seat to the global stage of politics - enjoy Dido!
