Obituary of Douglas Wallis
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Douglas Robert Wallis of London, formerly of Watford on Sunday, September 21st, 2008. Dearly loved husband of Betty. Predeceased by his first wife Fran (1988). Proud father of John and Carol Brown, Patty and Joe Przybylski, Sam and Sandy Wallis, Tim and Rebecca Brown and Dave Brown. Much loved grampa/papa of Molly, Travis, Matt, Cody, Marc, Christie Alex, Connor, Natalie, Jordan, Allison, Marla, Cameron, and Kylee. Dear brother of Ron (Joyce) and Roger and (Lois). Doug leaves behind his Sunningdale golf buddies, fellow ARCOCA- Cooper Lake Camp members and many service club colleagues. The family is eternally grateful for the very compassionate care extended by Dr. Wayne Johnson and the entire 4th floor palliative care staff at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital. Doug was a loyal and faithful husband, father and grandfather. He was passionate about golf, cars, and the fellowship that came in the surround of good friends. Doug was a second generation General Motors dealer principal, a business which celebrated its 75th anniversary this year. He was a staunch believer in giving back to his community as evidenced by his active participation and leadership on several service clubs. Papa, you have inspired us in so many ways and we will miss you dearly. Visitation will be held at the Harper Funeral Home in Watford on Wednesday, September 24th, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Havelock Lodge #238 A.F. and A.M. will conduct a memorial service on Wednesday at 6:30pm. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 25th at the Watford United Church at 11am with Pastor Fred Darke officiating. Donations to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital or Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences may be left online at www.harperfuneralhome.ca .
