Dear Marion, Francine and I would like to extend to you and your children and all the family our sympathies. Our son Frédéric remembers very well when you came over in Montreal a few years ago when we shared a dinner and enjoyed Walter playing accordeon and singing. Francine liked very much Walter's studio and sculptures while visiting West Lorne in summer of '69. I feel fortunate to have known Walter all these years from Art schools in London and Toronto. I was always impressed by Walt's determination to express himself in his Art. Walter was a good friend; he encouraged and inspired people around him. He will never be forgotten and his artwork will testifie to the person that he was. George Geertsen

I appreciate Walt's work and his place in Canadian art history, and when I return to London from time to time, I have a chance to see his work. This is a great loss to the art world and to me personally. I will forever miss his conversation and input about the work both of us were involved in and before his illness we spoke frequently.
