Dear Marion, Francine and I would like to extend to you and your children and all the family our sympathies. Our son Frédéric remembers very well when you came over in Montreal a few years ago when we shared a dinner and enjoyed Walter playing accordeon and singing. Francine liked very much Walter's studio and sculptures while visiting West Lorne in summer of '69. I feel fortunate to have known Walter all these years from Art schools in London and Toronto. I was always impressed by Walt's determination to express himself in his Art. Walter was a good friend; he encouraged and inspired people around him. He will never be forgotten and his artwork will testifie to the person that he was. George Geertsen

I grew up in London and took an interest in art and especially those "Heart of London" artists. I appreciate Walt's work and his place in Canadian art history, and when I return to London from time to time, I have a chance to see his work. To Walt's family ...please accept my sincere condolences on your loss.

This is a great loss to the art world and to me personally. I will forever miss his conversation and input about the work both of us were involved in and before his illness we spoke frequently. There is one less of us and we can't afford the loss. This is a reminder to always cherish those who are important to us. We never know when we will lose someone.

Dear Marion and family, So many amazing memories. I feel privileged to have known Walter and see behind the scenes of his art and creative process. An important part of that was you, his family and friends whose love and support were a foundation from which he could work and inspire others. His fingers delicately stroking the air is an image I want to never forget. Take care.

"This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine..." and shine he did. Walter lit up the world with his amazing visions and creations and it is through them, that his spirit will continue to shine.
