I have known Chris and the whole Gutteridge family for many years. I knew Chris first as a student in my English class and at the same time as an employee in my family business. I was lucky enough to be able to hire senior high school students and University students and Chris was one of the guys. He was a fantastic student and a great worker. We could always count on Chris to come ready for the task. He would come to the job site and without direction or fanfare he would just start working and he wouldn't quit until we were done. He will be a friend who I will always miss.
Doug and Marilyn, Cory and Caroline my heart and the hearts of my whole family go out to you. You are constantly in our prayers.

Chris Gutteridge was my friend. We taught together in the Religion Department at St. Michael Catholic Secondary School in Stratford for four years. For much of that time, my wife and I lived two doors down from the Gutteridges in St. Marys. We moved into that condo because Chris and Claudette were already there. Those were good years. Our children were close in age and we learned how to be parents at the same time. We shared backyard barbecues – Chris was always the grill man – and worked odd jobs together. We drove to work together almost every day. We laughed. I’ll always remember camping at the Pinery in a rainstorm with four little kids. It should have been horrible, but Chris made it work. I knew him as a genuine, hardworking individual. He exuded kindness and inspired me to be better. I am so grateful to have known him. Claudette, we love you and your family. You and the kids are in our prayers. You will always have a place in our hearts and our home. God bless.
