Nina had a great interest and love of trees. She and I would go on drives and she would drill me, Sycamore, Maples, many kinds of Pine, shag bark hickory was my favorite, I just loved how it sounded. In recent years she had occasion to see an ad with a contest for the location of very old trees. She entered it and I think she did win something , maybe not, but she did well at the task. She learned tatting from her mother, I think, and she was an expert. She gave me three linen hand towels which I will turn over to Ruth as soon as I can get my hands on them. When I moved to Chatham some years back, daily calls became a problem as she had an ordinary phone plan and we had a better one, so she rang once and I would call back .Our phone will never ring once again. I will miss the daily talks.
She had a mind like a steel trap and she used it well, I so enjoyed exploring all manner of subjects. We talked for many many hours. I love you Nina, good bye. Laurie
