Obituary of Bill Dolbear

Bill Dolbear It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, Bill Disney Dolbear, of Watford on Monday, December 26th, 2011 at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, at the age of 77. Predeceased by his loving wife Ann (Brown)(2011) and his parents Calvin Dolbear(1974) and Dorothy Dolbear(2000). Cherished father of Lisa(Sean) Fleming of Sarnia and Derek Dolbear of Watford. Step-father to Robert Lewis of Sarnia and Jean(Bob) Wodzinski of Chatham. Beloved grandfather of Joshua and Lila Fleming, Melissa Wodzinski, Joe Wodzinski, Becky Kubica and Kristie Lewis. Great-grandpa of 6. Survived by his loving brothers, Jack(Marilyn) Dolbear of Alvinston, Paul Dolbear of London and by his loving sisters Mary(Bob)Windel of Ilderton, Gail(George Ulrich)of London and Nettie Ellison of Alvinston. Predeceased by his beloved brother Reg(2004) and brother-in-law Bill Ellison(1981). Also survived by brothers-in-law Gerry Brown, Ron(Diane) Brown, Bob(Wendy) Brown. Survived by sisters-in-law Nel Brown and Marg Brown and brother-in-law Keith Cameron. Predeceased by brothers-in-law Harold Brown(1953), George Brown(1997), Jack Brown(1997), Rick Brown(2002) and sisters-in-law Betty Dale(2005), Sheila Cook(2006), Barb McEwen(2004), Pat Brown(2002), Joan Brown(2005) and June Cameron(2011). Also, predeceased by brothers-in-law Lloyd Cook and Roy Dale and sister-in-law Lilian Brown. Bill is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Bill was a well-respected teacher in the Lambton County Public School Board system for 31 years. During his lifetime, he made lifelong friends and became a member of a monthly Poker Club for over 40 years. Bill was a respected member of the Watford Road Race Committee for 54 years and had been there since the beginning as an Official Starter of the Alvinston-Watford Road Race. He came from a family of gifted skaters and hockey players. He was a devoted sports fan, notably baseball and hockey. He was devoted to the Alvinston Indians ball team, first as a player and then as a lifelong fan. The Sarnia Sting hockey club was another favourite. He coached many ball and hockey teams over the years. He was a proud husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held at the WATFORD CHAPEL OF DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS on Thursday, December 29th, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9pm with a Celebration of Life Service at Trinity Anglican Church in Watford on Friday, December 30th, 2011 at 11am with the Rev. Fr. Tom Anderson officiating. Interment to follow at St. Jame's Cemetery in Watford. Lunch to follow.
