I was looking back through old hockey pictures. I realized how much time and dedication Lisa spent to help my brothers and I progress. She was the skating coach from hell (which helped us so much). I googled her because I wanted to say Hello and thank you. Not what I wanted to see :( I’m so sorry for your loss, but I hope you take comfort; knowing she had that much of an impact for me. She was an amazing woman

Well, it's been a little over 2 months and I still can't believe that you are gone. Even though we hadn't stayed in touch, as often, it was knowing that we would catch up at some point. When I reach for my Vegas coffee cup each morning, I just want to call you one last time, so we can catch up, plan a get together or just laugh about something only you and I would understand. We were so much alike in so many ways. You are truly missed, and we will have that big get together someday. For I shall make us cocktails, and this time we will laugh forever. Rest in peace, my friend. Untill we meet again. Angela Morris

Rod & Family :
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Lisa.
Lisa was one of the first people Alex and I met when we arrived in Waterville Valley a few years ago to play hockey for the Fighting Spirit. Lisa brought so much happiness to everyone with her smile and positive comments. She truly was a wonderful person even though Alex and I only knew her for a very short time.
Lisa will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear Lisa lost her life to cancer. I have not seen her since we were little girls, but remember her fondly and have always considered her to be one of the best friends I ever had! I have many memories of sleepovers on the Sloan farm where Lisa and I would stay up half the night giggling and planning the next days adventures. I remember riding on the hay wagon, singing songs together, playing 'Clue' and 'Euchre', attempting to gather eggs and many, many trips to the rink for skating together. These are memories that will stay with me forever. Please know that I am thinking of all of you at this difficult time and am hopeful that the love of family will comfort you in the days ahead. Sincerely, Susan Stacey (formerly Susan Hensel)

Our sympathies to Rod and Lisa's family on the devastating loss of such a vibrant and loving young woman. We first met Lisa several weeks after the tragic death of our own daughter, Emma, in 2012. Mitch (our son) was scouted by Rod to come and play hockey for a new team, the "Fighting Spirit", based in Lake George, New York. Lisa became Mitch's second mom and his emotional lifeline to healing. Lisa was a tough on ice power skating coach but off the ice became the glue that bound the team together as she cared for each player as if they were her own. Lisa gave us regular updates on Mitch's health and well being and we knew from the day we met her that Mitch was in good hands.
We are deeply saddened that Lisa's life has been cut short. We know her 'Fighting Spirit' will live on.
Sending much love and infinite gratitude for a life well lived. Barb, Bryan and Mitch Purdie

Words cannot explain how much this beautiful lady has meant to our Family. First she is one of the most caring and loving people I have ever met. She taught my boys to skate with heart and pushed them hard and they loved it. We became friends and I introduced her to Rod. I am very sad .. it makes me really sad to see a really good person have really bad things happen to them.. I cant imagine how many people she has helped reach there goals and dreams. May Lisa rest in peace and God Bless! I know The Good Lord has better plans for her in Heaven ... Love, Ken, Carolyn ,Matthew & Nathan Gibson WE will miss her greatly!

I am sorry that Lisa has passed away too soon. She had so much more to give. She had the greatest fighting spirit and I know she will still be with us reminding us to be our best. With Lisa's spirit and giving in mind, along with her favourite time of year, for Lisa let's celebrate and honour her by acts of kindness to other's - like she did. Love you Lisa.
