Obituary of Norma Khalaf

Norma Khalaf, 56 of Arkona After a brave and valiant battle with cancer, Norma Khalaf has passed away at the age of 56. Surrounded by her family and close friends at St. Joseph's Hospice in Sarnia, Norma left this world peacefully to be in the gardens of Heaven. Daughter of the late Norman and Gertrude McKenzie (Stewardson) of Forest, Norma left behind a proud daughter, Jehann (Dave) of Arkona. Norma was also survived by her brother Bill (Sue) of Arkona, Anne (Bob) of Forest, Ron of Forest, Margaret (Jeff) of Edmonton as well as many nieces and nephews. Norma was a long term employee of Kettle and Stony Point Day Care and along with partner in crime, Marge, devoted her life to changing the life of others, with her main focus being children and education. When it came to her profession, Norma was a visionary and accomplished so much in her 34 years at the Centre. Many thanks go out to Dr. Madison and the amazing staff and volunteers at St. Joseph's Hospice, Dr. Ken Walker and the Bluewater Palliative Care team, Ellen and the nurses at VON for always being there and Dr. David Steven for going above and beyond countless times. As well, there were too many to name but a special thank you goes out to all the generous and caring friends and family who supported Norma on her journey over the last 18 months...she was truly grateful. A celebration of life ceremony will take place at the Kettle Point Community Centre on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. where all are asked to join in remembering Norma and her legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that any donations be made to the Kettle and Stony Point Day Care Centre to help fund a special project Norma was working on. Donations and condolences may be left online at www.denningfuneralhome.com . Arrangements entrusted to the FOREST CHAPEL OF DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS (519-786-2401).
