More than 50 years ago my mother Sophia Gal worked for Frank and Irene tying tobacco by hand at the 'table'. My sisters and I would accompany my mother and sometimes do a few 'sticks' on the side. One day Frank asked me to help him move some cured tobacco from one section of the barn to another. I would pick up the tobacco tied to the stick and walk over and hand it to him while he repiled. When we were done, he gave me a dollar. It was the first money I ever earned. Frank and Irene helped instil in me a work ethic and a sense of self at a very early age. Irene, Anita, Chris, Tanya, Frank, Laurie, Alex and Michael, My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I have so many fond memories of Frank, especially from my youth. Little did I think that two weeks ago, when I left for the city that would be the Last time I saw Papa. There's 2 important lessons to be learned. Cherish the ones you love, and always appreciate their presence because you never know what will change. You can only fight so long.You were there for me when I was down, gave me advice when I needed it and always told me to hold my head up and be determined. Little did you know I was your biggest fan. I'm so lucky to have had such an inspiration by my side. Not to mention the wonderful tan you gave me. You wanted me to go to Law school and don't you worry I'm almost there. I'd much rather have you there with me but I know you will always be by my side. I know God will take wonderful care of you. It's surreal to think your gone and you have no idea how much your family misses you and loves you. Don't worry Ill be the strong independent woman little country gal you always wanted me to be. Say hi to Opa ps grandma is the strongest woman I know
