Obituary of Dorothy Evelyn Murray

Peacefully passed at Strathmere Lodge surrounded by her family on June 17th, 2015. Dorothy was granted her wish that she be reunited with her loving husband Elmer of 49 years, and their daughter Orla (Durston) Gibbs (2010). Dorothy is survived by her devoted daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn (Bob) Fortner, Joan (Ken) Hayward, Ila (Bob) Poole, Jackie (Abe) Friesen, and son David Murray. Cherished grandmother of Steven (Michelle) Durston, Jeanette Durston, Chris Fortner, Sarah Earley, Devon Murray-Poole, Justin and Wesley Friesen, Stewart and Bryan Hayward. Dorothy was a great-grandmother of 9 and a great-great grandmother of 8. Dorothy will be missed by her much loved and only sister Joyce Bryson, sisters-in-law Alice (Murray)Weaver, Doris Murray and brother-in-law James Hill, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers-in-law Kenneth Bryson, Arthur Murray, Wilfred Murray, Bill Murray and sisters-in-law Majorie Hill, Kay Murray and Mildred Pond. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22nd, 2015 from 12 until 1p.m with a funeral service to commence at 1p.m. Interment to follow at Arkona Cemetery.
