Obituary of Nicholas Fragassi

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy at the age of 74. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years Freda (nee Gibbon). Devoted father of Lisa (Jodie), Mark (Rachel), Andrea and Nicole (Joe). Very special Nonno to Kaileigh, Megan, Ethan, Anthony, Gabriela, Emily, Giulia and Luca. Survived by his sister Silvana (Tony), his brother Gabriel (Linda) and sister-in-law Mary Presley (Sherman). Sadly missed by nieces and nephews, Paolo, Giuliana, Ryan, Nicholas, Linette and John. Predeceased by parents Vincenzo and Carmela Fragassi and mother-in-law Dorothy Gibbon. Fondly remembered by his fishing buddy "Uncle Norm Bernier" (Gloria), and his lifelong friends Fee Won (Rea), Gene (Murlene) Mallette and Jean Fox and family. Nick was born in Cappelle, Sul Tavo, Italy and immigrated with his family to Timmins, Ontario in 1952 at the age of 14. Nick was an automotive mechanic for over 30 years. One of his greatest achievements was becoming an automotive teacher at Northern College for 17 years. Nick had a passion for hunting and fishing his whole life and loved being in the bush. He was an advocate for preserving the Northern Ontario bush so that his children and grandchildren could continue to experience his love of the outdoors. Friends will be received at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy on Monday, July 22nd from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 23rd at 11:00 am with Fr. Lucio Couto officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to V. O. N.
