Obituary of Fred Abma

Fred (Freerk) Abma - born May 10, 1923 in Rys, Friesland. With sorrow yet comfort we give thanks to God for the life of a husband, father, and grandfather who passed away at home in Strathroy on April 13, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Alice (Alie) Abma. Dear father to Andrew Abma of Britannia Beach, BC, John and Mary Abma of Bright's Grove, ON, Janet and John Postma of Red Deer, AB, Richard and Wendy Abma of Calgary, AB, Chris and Pete VanHove of Surrey, BC, Mike and Shirlene Abma of Grand Rapids, MI, George and Amanda Abma of Strathroy, ON, Sylvia and Gary Lammers of Kitchener, ON, and Francine and Dennis Vink of Calgary, AB. Grandfather (Pake) to 26 grandchildren. Survived by brothers Johan and Ruurd Abma and sisters Nienke Gorter and Fem Hoekstra. Predeceased by his sister Baukje Verhaaf. Visitation at Westmount CRC on Sunday, April 17 from 2-5 PM where a funeral will be held on Monday, April 18 at 2 PM. Interment in Strathroy Cemetery.
