Obituary of Helen Plyley
PLYLEY
At Caressant Care, Bonnie Place, St. Thomas on Thursday, January 3rd, 2007. Helen Plyley of St. Thomas and formerly of Rodney in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her parents Arlington Plyley (1956) and Mary Gillies (1978).
Survived by her brother Grant Plyley and his wife Margaret of St. Thomas and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Dorland and Gordon, her sisters Mary (Miller) and Marjorie Plyley and her nephew Wayne Miller. Helen was born on July 16th, 1917 in Rodney. She started her teaching career in a rural school near Petrolia and later taught in London. In 1956 she went to Germany to teach at the air force base at Baden-Baden for 2 years and then returned to finish her teaching career in London. Helen moved to Caressant Care in St. Thomas in 1999 where she received wonderful, loving care from the staff all the while.
Friends may call at the Rodney Chapel, 212 Furnival Rd. on Sunday, January 6th, 2008 from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. Funeral service will follow at 2:30 pm. Rev. A. Brndjar officiating. Interment Rodney cemetery.
