It is with broken hearts the family of Barbara Jean Godfrey announces her passing, with her loving husband by her side, on December 1st, 2024 at the age of 67. Beloved wife of Malcolm of 43 cherished years. Loving mother of Jason (Amy) Godfrey, Ryan (Casey) Godfrey, Kevin Godfrey (Ashley), and Shannon Godfrey. Proud Nanny of David, late Ashlynn, Malcolm, Shannon, Tye, Hogan, Avarie, Wrenley, and Beau. Barb is survived by her siblings Kent (Cleowne) Gilliam, Pete (Connie) Gilliam, late Paul “Frog” (Elaine) Gilliam, and Donna (Gord) Gallant. Barb was predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Eleanor Gilliam. Barb will be sadly missed and always remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

Barb loved nothing more than to spend her time with her family and her friends. She was passionate about baseball, whether she was playing in the local co-ed team or watching her favourite team, the Toronto Blue Jays. Barb’s gardens were always beautiful, she loved to spend her time making sure all the flowers and plants were always taken care of. Barb loved her furry friends that she had throughout her life to keep her company, she had three dogs Paula, Dillon & Winston. Barb was known for her fantastic baking and she never needed a recipe to follow, she created the recipe, made with love each and every time. There were many years spent travelling throughout Mexico and the Carribean, enjoying the warm sunshine and making the best of memories. Barb loved to join the VON exercise program where she made many new friends; she looked forward to these visits every week. Barb’s title as Nanny was one she was most proud of, her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Barb will be missed by all those that knew and loved her. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 1:00p.m. until 4:00p.m. at DENNING'S OF STRATHROY. A Celebration of Barb’s life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Women’s Rural Resource Centre.
