Cor VanderElst was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday November 8, 2024 at the age of 90 years. Lovingly remembered by his wife Elizabeth and his children: Marilyn and Dave Pranger; Betty and Max Hoogstra; and Jeff VanderElst. Loved and adored by his 9 grandchildren: Melissa & David, David, Max, Josh & Courtney, Shawn & Nicolette, Nathan & Erika, Patrick & Katie, Marc, Evan & Lisa and 8 great grandchildren. Survived by three sisters and one brother. Cor was born in Pijnacker, South Holland, the Netherlands on November 12, 1933. He immigrated to Canada at the age of 19 and settled in the Strathroy area. In 1962 he formed Cor’s Motors Ltd. and, along with many great employees, he loved serving his customers with their automotive needs. Cor was also an active member of Strathroy East CRC.

Family and friends will be received at Strathroy East CRC on Thursday November 14, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at Strathroy East Christian Reformed Church, 476 Metcalfe St. East, Strathroy on Saturday November 16, 2024 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Andrew deGelder officiating.
