Obituary of Carmene Kormendi
On Friday, June 28th, 2024 at LHSC University Hospital, London Ontario, Carmene Kormendi (nee Gregory), in her 81st year, passed away after fighting a tough battle since she was first admitted to hospital on May 30th, 2024. She was a beloved wife to John Kormendi of 63 years. Cherished mother of John (Sandy) Kormendi, Tammy (Ross) Farquhar, and Joe (Ricki) Kormendi. Devoted Grandmother of Aleshia (Mike), John, Matthew, Andrew, Jordyn and Jilly. Sister-in-law to Ernie (Sharon) Kormendi. Predeceased by her daughter Rosemary, her parents Carman and Doris Gregory, her parents-in-law John and Elizabeth Kormendi, her brothers Murray (Marg), Milne (Judy), Milton (Jeanette), and Leon (Elizabeth). She will be missed by Aunt Esther and many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Carmene fought hard to battle the numerous issues that came up, as did the Doctors. The staff at University Hospital were amazing and the family would like to thank them dearly. The family would also like to thank everyone who supported John, John, Sandy, Tammy, Ross, Joe and Ricki.
Carmene was known for her great sense of humor, fabulous cooking, especially her Hungarian cabbage rolls, and top-notch potato salad. Almost everyone who knew about these meals requested them at one time or another. She was always happy to accommodate these requests. She was one strong, loving lady who made it clear that her family were important to her. She is finally at peace and will now be with her parents, daughter Rosemary and her brothers.
