Kathye Adair

Obituary of Kathye Adair

With insurmountable sadness, the Adair family announces the sudden passing of Kathleen Mary Adair (nee Iden), at her home, on June 4th, 2024, at the age of 77.

Predeceased by her loving husband Stephen Grant Adair (2012). Devoted and constant mother of Tara Dawn Adair, Dena  Anne (Stephen) Minielly, the late Stephen William (Sandy) Adair. Steadfast, loving Gran to Katie (Sam), Abby (Charly), Riley, and Callan (Chase).

Kathye devoted her life to her family. She was our biggest fan and constant support. Kathye was the ‘gran who refused to grow up’ and maintained her sense of wonder and connection with her grandchildren.

A domestic artist, she taught herself, and mastered, the art of embroidery, quilting and sewing, spending hours on exceptional creations for her loved ones. She was a fierce advocate for children and animal rights. A past member of the Canadian Kennel Club, her dogs were her passion. Kathye was always interested in others, was awarded for her excellence in care at Bestview Nursing Home and gave her heart freely to all who knew her.
She was an ally to those who were broken, abandoned and abused and often adopted the responsibilities of others in order to provide unwavering support to those most in need.
Always putting humour at the forefront, she was hilarious, silly and made everyone gasp with laughter. We always thought she should’ve been a writer for the Monty Python gang!

Mum, we know we were your guide, your light and your tonic. We hope you knew how much you were loved, valued and cherished. Few people make such a boldly positive impact on others. Thankfully, our souls chose to be part of your world.

“As long as we live, they too will live; for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.” ~ Jewish Prayer
