Obituary of Mary Vandenbogaard

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Vandenbogaard, peacefully with family by her side at Sprucedale Care Centre, on Friday, May 24th, 2024 at the age of 93. Predeceased by her beloved husband Albert Vandenbogaard (2020). Loving and cherished mother of John (Anne) Vandenbogaard, Tony (Pat) Vandenbogaard, Ted (Marion) Vandenbogaard, Mary (Hank) Veens, and Bob (Karin) Vandenbogaard. Proud grandma of Amanda (Kris), Shelley (Wayne), Rebecca (Alex), Jason (Kate), Angela (James), Justin (Nicole), Aaron, Julie (Paul), Katie (Jesse), Frankie (Nissa), Karla, Tracy (Brendan), Jenny (Shawn), Mark (Mackenzie), Sarah (Parker), Christina (Rhys), Matthew, Ryan (Rebecca), Wayne, Laura, Paul, Steven, Kathleen, Daniel, Maria, and Thomas. Cherished great grandma of 21 great grandchildren. 

Mary is survived by her siblings Elizabeth (the late John) Donkers, Hubert (Sia) Kennes, Seline (Pete) Visser, and sister in-laws Carol Kennes, and Paula Koolen.

Mary is predeceased by her siblings Catherine (Ted) VanRoestel, Joe (Rachel) Kennes, Louis Kennes, Harry (Elisabeth) Kennes and her in-laws Hendrika Vervoordeldonk-Vandenbogaard, Nellie Vandenbogaard, Theo Vandenbogaard, Miet Van Lierop-Vandenbogaard, Johanna Straatman-Koolen, Driek Koolen, Nol Koolen Thiest Koolen Chris Koolen and Ted Koolen

Mary will be missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada and the Netherlands.

Visitation will be held at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saint's Roman Catholic Church, 124 Front St. E., on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Parkhill Cemetery.
