As a tribute to Pops, I'd like to share a poem that I wrote for him years ago, titled "Father and Son".
Remember the time we used to play
In the backyard, having fun all day
You were the strongest and smartest friend I had
While I was just a silly young lad
You taught me the basics, both big and small
You seemed to be there every time I'd call
When I needed guidance, you held my hand
And I felt so safe with such a loving man
You cared for me and helped me grow
And told me things that I needed to know
You gave me confidence and let me see
That I could become what I wanted to be
Those precious moments were real and true
Did you know I wanted to be like you?
We share a great bond of father and son
And I must thank you for all that you've done
I have been given a life, and with that I'm so glad
To be the lucky person to call you Dad

My condolences to you Lori and Derek on the passing of your Dad. Your Dad and Uncle Bob were very close playing baseball winning the Ontario Championship and hockey then fishing trips with a couple of beer's after Lol. I remember your Dad bringing you guys to play with your cousins Tammy,Cyndi,and Jason riding bikes hikes in the woods and down by the creek. Loved the time Love Aunt Sharon .
