Obituary of Burton Kenneth Dodds

Our dad, Burton Kenneth Dodds, of Forest, Ontario, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years, on Thursday, October 5, 2023.  He now is in his Heavenly Home, with his late wife, Dorothy June (née Dawson).  Survived by his brother Ray Dodds, of Independence, Missouri.  Survived also by his seven children: Cathy (Dan) Fraser, Orland (Kris) Dodds, Karen (Rick) Rockwood, Susan (Jon) Abbey, Ray (late Anne) Dodds, Dale Dodds and John (Tami) Dodds.  Grandpa Burt leaves a legacy of 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Our dad, Burt, was a member of the Community of Christ.  In his younger days, he served the church and was one of the volunteers who gave countless hours to help build the Leckie Drive church building in Sarnia, Ontario.   He worked at the Blue Water Bridge for most of his working life and provided well for his family of nine.  He drove school bus for the community schools, and for the army cadets at Ipperwash.  Burt was a member, in good standing, at the Forest, Ontario Legion, serving as Sergeant-at-Arms for many years.

At Burt’s request, a private family memorial service will take place at DENNING’S OF FOREST (519-786-2401).
