Peacefully, at North Lambton Lodge on Friday, September 8th, 2023, Catherine Mary Heffernan of Forest and formerly of Windsor and originally of Kilkenny, Ireland passed away at the grand old age of 95.

Catherine was a proud and dedicated teacher with the Catholic School Board for many years.  She retired in 1988 to Forest, Ontario along with her lifelong friend and fellow teacher Kay Beadon.  The two gals kept busy gardening, travelling and countless hours of volunteering their time to the community and to their beloved Catholic Church.

Catherine leaves behind two brothers-in-law; John and Peter as well as extended family in Ireland.  

Predeceased by her sisters; Patricia, Josephine, Eleanor and Mary and brothers; Andrew and James.

Catherine also leaves behind her dear friends Nellie and Joe Boere of Forest, Ontario who always made sure she was cared for and loved.

A special, heartfelt thanks to the staff of North Lambton Lodge and in particular, the caregivers in the Oak wing for the care and compassion shown to Catherine during her ten years of calling North Lambton Lodge home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Christopher's Roman Catholic Church, Forest on Catherine's birthday, Thursday, September 14th, 2023 at 11 am with visitation one hour prior to Mass.  Catherine's Mass will be livestreamed at www.forestfuneralhome.com

Catherine's mortal remains will travel the Atlantic one final time as she makes her way back to Kilkenny, Ireland to be buried in the family plot.
