He was known to me as Grandpa Humphries. I have happy memories from visiting him as a child. My favourite thing was a walk through the woods after meals. It instilled in me a great love and respect for nature. Nothing brings peace of mind to me like being still in a forest, observing nature. That was what he gave me. I can't think of these walks without hearing him whistling. He knew a lot of birds and that always intrigued me. As a child he seemed like a bellowing giant but there was certainly this gentleness and humour about him. He loved his dogs greatly. I'll miss those days.

In 1975 Floyd hired me at township of Southwold and as mentor Floyd taught us to surveyed for road construction And prior to that many new jobs he would remind us that , is that the way we would want the job to be completed. Floyd was a great mentor and best all a great friend. I will miss his many times sharing meals And times for help in my tasks when he left Southwold. I will miss you always thank you for knowledge and friendship. Roy

My Dad. Whenever I had a problem or question my Dad had the answer. He was a wealth of knowledge and I was privileged to have been his daughter. He instilled a love of nature… gardening, camping, hiking, walking in his woods. Dad was a good father and I shall miss him so much. Love you Dad❤️ There is a family reunion in heaven going on with Mom, his Mom and Dad and all his siblings.
