My sincere condolences to Gayle and family, Janet and family and all who knew Al.
I worked with Al for over 20 years at Praxair. He was a great colleague who had a knack for getting things done! He was extremely reliable, dedicated, and a good friend to all.
He had a good sense of humor and was quick with the one liners, many of which he had to explain to me as I wasn't quick enough to catch them, LOL! Late one night I had to stop in at the Oakville plant to pick something up when nobody was there. When I entered my office and turned on the light I got quite the fright! Al had put "rescue randy" that was a life size dummy used for confined space training in my chair, dressed in coveralls, with a hard hat on, one hand on the keyboard and one hand on the mouse. After my fright I started to laugh out loud while thinking - Edmond!!
I had a hard time finding any pictures of Al as he liked to avoid the camera. I've attached a couple of pictures from a Praxair hockey tournament in 2005. One is his team picture and the other two are of him in the penalty box! He was being very social that game though, in both pictures he's in the box with a different teammate, LOL!
The thing I miss the most is the time I spent with Al at the Clarkson plant just sitting and talking with him about anything and everything.
Those are good memories....he will be missed.

My deepest condolences to Gayle, the entire family and everyone that knew and loved Al.
Al was my hockey defence partner for at least 15 years…I thought we were a great pair… I was reckless and he was reliable! He’d say, “Go do whatever you want, I’ll take care of the net!” …and he did… he always did.
His favourite hockey movie was “Slap Shot” and we’d share quotes from it while lacing up our skates.. that’s definitely a fond memory I will cherish.
We played every Saturday night with Praxair for years and Al would bring my a daughter a new stuffed toy every time. She called Al (Albert) and she couldn’t wait to see him! Al never disappointed. He was awesome with her..she sure did love Albert!
I could always count on Al, on and off the ice.
He always had my back and he picked me up when I needed him the most.
I feel blessed to have known him and grateful I could call him my friend.
I will miss him.

So sorry to hear the Pasing of Al. What a great guy absolutely genuine He passed on a lot of great knowledge and great laughs always looked forward to seeing him in the morning when I was loading at Clarkson and I would never leave without poking my head in the office and saying see you later Bud. One day when I was at the plant I remember Al put up a bunch of old Lindy pictures of the trucks and different tanks and Janet happened. To be there and I said you know what we really need. We need a picture of Al when he was a baby like laying on a bare skin rug butt naked. And wouldn't you know it? She pulled a 8×10 picture of him out of her purse true story. Rest easy bud no more pain condolences to Janet and the family. Tom Sigrist CO 2 driver out of Niagara Falls New York.

Al, brought laughter and a joy for life to everywhere.
I worked with him over 25 years, whether it was the office in Oakvile, the plant in Clarkson or the coldbox in Newfoundland, he made work just a little bit better.
Thank you for sharing his laughter and stories with us. He will be missed.
My deepest condolences.

It was my pleasure to have worked and known Al. A great guy, who spoke often about his family and was truly blessed to have them. I shared many laughs with you bud and I'm going to miss you, but I won't forget you. Hoping you're playing in haven with all the other musicians and spending your off time with the car guys.

My wife and I fell in love with Gayle and Al when we met them on a bus tour of Italy. In 10 days we felt we had known them for many years. We laughed all the time with Al's wit. They invited us to their home to have Canadian Thanksgiving with their family. That meant the world to us. We accepted the invitation and drove from the southern part of Indiana to Kitchener. They welcomed us with open arms and so much love. I asked Al what we were having for Thanksgiving dinner. Without missing a beat, he said come to the refrigerator and he would show me. He started unwrapping the foil and said he just picked up a fresh penguin and a baby seal. Being gullible, I believed him. Then he said Pat, we have the same thing as you, Turkey!! What a special and precious man he was! He will always be in our hearts! We love you Gayle and Al.

Thinking of the family and we remember all the good time with Brother Al . Al was not the easiest to get in a photo but here are a couple ( Al probably had a few jokes to tell Don and second photo one of Praxair fishing trips ) I tried to find a photo of me and Al but it was always Al taken pictures of me and sending around to people for a laugh ( i knew most of his tricks but he got me a few times hahah ok a lot of times , golfing with him and Gord Edwards , Bob Munn and Al had pictures of me posted in Head Office , Made me dress up for Halloween and I show up with Bat man suit and of course no one else is dressed up )
Life is too short and we need to have a good laugh and wow we had a lot of laughs.
Rest in peace Al
