Obituary of Sidney Arthur Fraleigh

FRALEIGH, Sidney Arthur

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at North Lambton Lodge on Monday, May 8, 2023, at the age of 92 years.  Beloved husband to Vel for 70 years.   Loving father of Lynda (Bill), Michael (Terri), David (Beth), Wendy (Ian), and Mark (Jane).  Sid will also be missed by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his sister Janet Smart (Dave).  Predeceased by his parents Sidney and Cec Fraleigh, and his sisters Barbara MacLean (late Lach), and Anne Manning (late Bob McFarlan)(late John Manning).  

Farming was significant to Sid, and his presence in the community was well known and felt by many.   Sid held many roles, including his service as a Member of Parliament, Chair of the Ontario Pork Producers Marketing Board, and was inducted into the Lambton County Agricultural Hall of Fame.  

Visitation will take place at DENNING’S OF FOREST, 9 James Street South, Forest, on Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and on Friday morning, May 12, 2023, from 10:00 am to Service time at 11:00 am.  Online condolences may be made at www.forestfuneralhome.com     For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Children’s Health Foundation London, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, or to the organization of choice.
