Thompson, Donald Gordon
Peacefully passed at Sprucedale Care Centre on March 9th, 2023 at the age of 77. Don was the beloved husband of Marjorie Thompson (McCaw) for 52 special years. Loving father of Tracy (Richard) Zemmelink and Paul Thompson. Cherished Papa of Lauren Zemmelink, Emeline Zemmelink, Lily Thompson, and Rosie Thompson. Donald is survived by his siblings Terry (Sherrie) Thompson, Judy (Leonard) Westgate, Mary Thompson, Roy Thompson (Bev), Susan Thompson, Barb (Lewis) Carter, and Anne Thompson-Wambua.
Survived by his sister-in-law Sonia Thompson and brother-in-law Ken Watson (Sharron).
Predeceased by his parents Grant and Hazel Thompson, by his brother Ross Thompson, his sister Jean Watson, and brother-in-law Paul Wambua.
Don will be fondly remembered by his many extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins, many colleagues throughout the accounting community and his many friends throughout his life.
Don’s family wishes to extend their gratitude and thankfulness to the entire staff, for the kindness, care and compassion of Don for his last 6 years at Sprucedale Care Centre.
Visitation will be held at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Friday, March 17th, 2023 from 12:30p.m. until the time of memorial service at 2:00p.m., followed by a time of fellowship and reception. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Sprucedale Care Centre, Strathroy or the Parkinson Society of Canada.
