Obituary of Ellen Joanne Thomson
Ellen Joanne Thomson, peacefully passed away at home on March 7th, 2023 at the age of 92. Loving wife of the late John Robert Thomson (1999). Cherished mother of the late Bob (late Nancy) Thomson, Nancy (Dave) Payne, and Donna (John) Van Massenhoven. Proud grandma of Jennifer Thomson (Jim Mackichan), Joanne (Marty) Preece, Michael Thomson, Christopher Payne, Courtney Payne, John Jr (Sherri) Van Massenhoven, Shawn Van Massenhoven (Melissa Howe), and Michelle Geiger. Great grandma of Cassandra Dayman, Tyler Preece, Megan Preece, Cayden Thomson, Lucas Van Massenhoven, Logan Van Massenhoven, Olivia Van Massenhoven, and Kailyn Herrington. She will be greatly missed by her siblings, the late Cameron Dorman, Claire Dorman, and the late Doris Dorman. Predeceased by her parents Willis and Clara Dorman. She will be fondly remembered by many extended family members and friends.
Ellen loved watching and attending many sporting events, especially Blue Jays and Maple Leafs games. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed days out on the course with her family. Ellen had quite the green thumb and spent many sunny afternoons in her garden. Ellen cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family meant everything to her.
A Visitation will take place at DENNING’S OF AILSA CRAIG on Saturday, March 11th, 2023 from 1:00pm until time of Funeral Service at 2:00pm. Burial to follow at Nairn Cemetery.
