Obituary of Barbara Jean Gordon
Barbara Jean Gordon 1936 - 2023
The family of Barbara Jean Gordon (nee Hunniford) is heartbroken to announce the unexpected passing of their mother and grandmother on Monday, March 6th 2023.
Barb was born in Bosanquet Township to Sarah and Norman Hunniford, and was the 3rd of 5 children.
She married Norm Sharpe in 1955 and they moved onto a farm on the 6th of Bosanquet. Together, they had three children, enjoyed dancing and card playing at Jura schoolhouse and Friday night bowling.
Norm died at the early age of 47 in 1979. Barb and the children remained on the farm until she married the second love of her life, John Neil Gordon in 1982. Moving to London, they enjoyed 29 years of golf, curling, square dancing and travel.
Neil passed in 2011 leaving Barb once again to prove her strength and resilience.
We remember Barb's infectious laugh, a twinkle in her eye and a big smile whenever she told the countless stories of her parents, of her love for both of her husbands, their travels, her farming trials and successes, her children and the grandchildren who sometimes required either Grandma's firm hand and a time out or her homemade cakes and cookies.
Barb is survived by her 2 brothers and 2 sisters, her children and grandchildren.
Jim Sharpe (Marilee), Mitchell, Jocelyn, David Sharpe (Heather), Laura, Ryan, Diane Jefferson (Kevin), Alyssa, and Scott, and her stepchildren Lois Hersey (Don), and Scott Gordon along with many nieces and nephews.
