Obituary of Richard Kent Guy
It is with sadness the family of the late Richard “Rick” Guy passed away on February 23, 2023 at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital at the age of 75. Rick was Born in Oyen, Alberta June 17, 1947, to his late parents Bruce and Reeta Guy. Beloved husband of the late Nancy Guy. Proud and devoted father of Elissa and her husband Joe. Rick is Predeceased by his son, Jordan Guy, and his sisters Linda and Judith. Rick is survived by his daughter-in-law Kelly Romphf, and his step-grandchildren Megan (Curtis) and Tim (Rachel) Romphf. He will be missed, and always remembered, by his brother-in-law Aaron Chase (Mary Ann) and sister-in-law Sarah Chase (Gary) and by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors, customers, and friends throughout the community.
Rick was a Fuel Truck driver for his career, travelling the many roads over the years. Rick was an avid fan of old things with wheels (running motor optional). He loved Volvos, old tractors, and old cars. He especially loved Gray Dort and Durant cars. Rick was a founding member of the Volvo Owners’ Club and a longtime member of the Tri-County Heritage Club. He was also a member of HASC, Southern Ontario Street Rods, Durant -Star club. He was the Chairperson and treasurer of Heritage 35. He will be greatly missed by many at the local cruise nights and flea markets. He always had a joke or funny story to share.
Visitation will take place on March 13th, 2023 from 7-9pm at DENNING’S in Ailsa Craig. A Memorial service will take place on March 14th, 2023 at 10 am with an hour of visitation prior at the funeral home. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
