James “Gary” Keays
Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Jessica’s House, Gary passed away on February 23rd, 2023, in his 77th year. Gary was the beloved husband of Verda for 56 wonderful years. Proud father of Sarah (grand-pup Winston), and Dawnna and Joe Circelli. Gary was the dedicated, supportive, and caring Pa of Anthony and Dante Circelli. Gary is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Karen and Ron Core and sister-in-law Gwen Shantz. Predeceased by his parents Howard and Helen Keays, second wife Doris, brother-in-law Ron Shantz, and mother-in-law and father-in-law Wilma and Harry Shantz. Gary will be missed dearly by his extended family, friends, and community.
Gary was an avid member of the horse racing community. He spent many years racing, as well as judging races. He was an active member in his community serving on the Ailsa Craig Council, Community Policing, and Gala Days. Gary developed many close relationships throughout his amazing career.
Visitation will be held on Sunday February 26th, 2023, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at DENNING’S OF AILSA CRAIG. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday February 27th, 2023, at 1:00pm with visitation one hour prior beginning at 12:00pm. All are welcome to attend.
