Obituary of Nilda Vargas Vanderwal (Urrutia)

After a courageous battle with illness and surrounded by family, Nilda went peacefully home to her heavenly father wrapped in the arms of her saviour. Nilda will be remembered for always caring, putting others first and bringing light to those around her. Her love for family, friends, cooking, gardening, and crocheting will be sorely missed.

Lovingly missed by her husband Henry; children Alex (Denise), and Alison. Survived by her sisters in the Philippines and Canada (Linda, Nimfa, Aida). Forever cherished by the entire Vanderwal, Urrutia, and Jorge families.

The family would like to thank Nilda's care teams including Dr. Gary Perkin, LHSC, VON, and Paramed.

A visitation will be held at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.  Visitation will continue at Calvary Pentecostal Church on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 11:30am until time of service at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Strathroy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Strathroy Community Christian School or Ovarian Cancer Canada.
