Obituary of Betty Wilhelmina Hamacher
It is with deep sadness the family of Betty Hamacher announces her passing on January 31st, 2023 at Sprucedale Care Centre in her 100th year. Betty was the beloved wife of the Late husband Philip Edgar Hamacher (2012) after 70 cherished years together. Loving mother to Rene (Keith) Locking, Mary (Stan) McKeen and her daughter-in-law Brenda Hamacher. Betty is survived by her 12 cherished grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Betty is also survived by her brother Len (Pat) Donkervoort. Betty will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and all who knew her.
Predeceased by her children Barb Tallent (2014), Norm Hamacher (2019) and Scott Hamacher (2007).
Betty enjoyed spending her time with her family and friends. She was active in the communities of Strathroy and Poplar Hill. Betty had a great talent for sewing, crocheting, quilting and gardening.
Betty spent her last two years at Sprucedale, where her family felt at peace with the kindness, care and compassion they showed to Betty. Special thanks to the staff for their exceptional care.
At this time, cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will take place in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to DENNING’S OF STRATHROY.
