So sorry Louise and family. Roland was the reason our Jamaican project ,that supplied schools there with computers and books, was so successful. He faithfully saw that our shipment got to its destination . He was such a kind man and will be missed

Thoughts and prayers are with Louise and family at this time. I will always remember all the stories and much laughter we all shared with Roland in the past years. Even when Roland was going through some difficult times with his health. He always tried to make the day better with a joke, or a funny story. Rest in peace my friend.

I first made Roland’s acquaintance in grade 1 at what was the West Lorne Public School hosting students from grade 1 to grade 8. And that acquaintance lasted throughout our high school years. Roland and I were not close buddies, however, we were in and out of each other’s classes during this time. I always found Roland to be very kind, and, during our occasional conversations he often contributed thoughtful comments. We all inhabit a specific age demographic, and, as we learn of friends, acquaintances, and our loved ones experiencing their ultimate transition, it causes us to pause and reflect on what this life’s journey is really about. How did we/do we measure up in those things that really matter – love, acceptance, courage, awareness, forgiveness, empathy, non-judgement, compassion, kindness? The lives we share with others are very short after all. May I offer my sincere condolences to Roland’s family and friends. May you find moments of peace, and, moments of tenderness as you share in your memories of Roland. Clara (Kovach) Zelenak

With deepest sympathy to Louise and Kristine. He was known to all and was always polite. I met Roland when I was 3. We rented a farm from his mother, when I became a teen he hired me to work at his store. He will be sadly missed by all.
