Please accept my sincerest sympathy. Your Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, and Brother was a wonderful human. He was my Vet for many years before I moved to Maine, and I trusted him implicitly with my critters. You could feel the love and respect he had for all animals emanating from him. I will never forget bringing in a very tiny, mostly feral kitten I rescued, and as she hung off the ceiling, sounding very much like a huge feline of some sort that was surely not domestic, especially to the clients in the waiting room who could not see what was going on, your father looked me straight in the eye and said “ you know I could get you a tame kitty, but we wouldn’t be having this much fun now would we!” We both laughed as he put on the protective gloves to retrieve her. That kitty lived to 23 years. Peace, love, light and prayers to all of you, his family, and to all who loved and cherished him, including dear Tigger.

So sorry to hear of Dr Widdups passing. I did a co-op with him when I was in grade 11 and enjoyed every minute of it. He was a very kind, generous and funny man! I will never forget ripping down the gravel country roads and our many conversations. My thoughts to the family, he was an exceptional human being.

Dr. Widdup was always the kindest of people and a wonderful vet for our animals. His sense of humour and honesty was always appreciated. He was such a kindhearted, generous man and will always be remembered. I took this photo of him in 2016 as he inspected the RCMP Musical Ride horses in Watford.

So very sorry to hear of "Doc Ron" passing away. He was my vet for years and i always trusted him when it seemed "that" decision might need to be made. He had an innate sense of whether it was that time or not and in my experience was always right, sometimes even surprising himself when he suggested trying in spite of the odds. I will miss running into him at Community events or just going to pick up the mail. The familiar Doc Ron license plate on his SUV. He was the typical country vet of yesteryear even making house calls to check on his patients when necessary and he was available whenever he was needed no matter what time or day it was. RIP Doc Ron you have earned your rest.
My sincere condolences to all of his family. Treasure the memories.

Sending condolences to all of Ron's family. He was such a kind and passionate man. I remember my young daughter and I taking her new kitten to him for shots. He talked to her about the kitten and then she said would you like to hold her, he stopped and said sure and took the time to cuddle the cat. I have always remembered that. May he rest in peace. Jane & Eric von der Recke.

Condolences to the family. We met Doc Widdup one day as our local vet was away. We had a Holstein cow that would not get up. She had been down for several days unable to rise. A down cow is a dead cow so getting her up was priority. the other vets had exhausted their ideas, everything from the lab looked ok. Doc very quietly examined the cow, tip to tail, told us there didn't appear to be a reason she would not get up. He then grabbed her ear, put his face very close to her ear and let a bellow out of him that made all of us jump, it was LOUD!. That cows' eyes went big and she jumped to her feet. He smiled and said she just didn't think she could. The cow went on to be a 3rd place All Ontario the next year and scored Excellent.(quite an achievement for a cow). many more stories but that one we tell over and over.
