Obituary of Derek Michael Zirk
Derek Michael (Zirky) Zirk, 48, of Thorndale, Ontario passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday Oct. 19th, 2022.
As of Derek’s wishes, cremation took place. Visitation will be held at Denning’s of Strathroy on Saturday Oct. 29th, 2022 from 1-3pm.
Derek was born in London, Ontario to Lilly and Richard Zirk on Nov. 19th, 1973.
He worked as a production operator at 3M Canada for 20years. He enjoyed golf and was a legend in London ball hockey scene.
Derek is survived by his life partner Stacy Richardson, his mother Lilly Zirk and brother Chris Zirk, (predeceased by his father Richard Zirk), mother in-law Pat Richardson, sister and brother in-law Kelly and Mark Matthews, and god father to David Matthews. Better known to David as Uncle “D”. He is also survived by his and Stacy’s many fur babies (Oliver, Chester, Reimer, Rocky and Rusty).
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. Stacy wishes to extend her gratitude to the surgery ward staff at University hospital, Victoria hospital, the staff at the Southwest Local Health Integration Network, and St. Elizabeth Nursing and all the other countless people, friends and family that made Derek’s last days as comfortable as possible.
