Obituary of Joao Da Mota
With his beloved family by his side on Friday, July 29th, 2022 at University Hospital, London. Joao Barbosa “John” Da Mota of West Lorne in his 90th year. Lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Maria (Velosa). John was the proud father of Frank and his son Jeffery (Chantelle) and their children Caden, Hunter, Serena and Savannah and Manuel and his son Kyle.
Survived by his brothers; Tony and Frank Da Mota.
Also survived by his brother-in-law Manuel (Rosa) Velosa.
John was a long-time resident of West Elgin and spent 28 years working at Milner-Rigsby. He loved to be outside tending to his gardens and his grapevines. He was known as the “grapevine whisperer” and was a diehard Leaf’s fan.
Visitation for John will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022 from 6 – 9 pm at Denning’s of West Lorne (202 Main St.) A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at St. Mary’s Church, West Lorne at 11 am with interment to follow at St. Mary’s cemetery.
