Linda Burns

Obituary of Linda Colleen Burns

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Linda C. Burns (née Minielly) of Watford, Ontario, on July 22nd, 2022, at the age of 65 years. Following a lengthy battle with Multiple Myeloma, our dear Linda passed peacefully at home with her family by her side. She will be sadly missed by her husband and best friend of 29 years Don Burns, daughters Dayna (James) Turner and Ashley (Michael) Thyssen, and son Craig (Natasha) Burns. Fun-loving grandma Linda was extremely proud of her grandchildren Savannah, Iris, Cedar, Penelope, Lily, and Vander. Linda was an integral member of the Minielly clan and leaves behind a legacy of a large family. Linda’s warm presence will be missed by sisters Evelyn (Joe) Steadman, Sharon (Ken) Ramsay, Ilene (Ray) Cushman, Marilyn (the late Bruce) Walker, Brenda Smith, Cathy (Mike) Unsworth, Cheryl (Don) Foubister, and best friend Marion Salton. Dear sister-in-law to Marilyn (Hector) MacHutchon and Rob (Marilyn) Burns. Loved and remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son, Ryan Kapala, her parents Clayton and Ella Minielly, and brothers Larry, Allan, and Dennis.

Linda was a proud woman with a great taste for decor, who managed to turn their home into a dream oasis. She could often be found painting her walls, working on a new project with her husband, or tending to their immaculate garden. Linda’s compassion helped her succeed as a dedicated nurse. She was full of life and inspired all those around her with her good humour and infectious smile.

Special thanks to Janet, Lucy, and Joan as well as Dr. Crombeen and Dr. Maddison, and the best nurse ever, Danika Wilson.

As per Linda’s request, a private funeral by invitation only will take place at DENNING’S OF WATFORD. As an expression of sympathy, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences and donations may be made at www.watfordfuneralhome.com
