I got to know Ken when he moved across the street from us. I tried to assist him in small ways (little visits, garbage detail and some shopping). He was very interested in the fact that my grandsons are in to car racing, both on asphalt and dirt. Our sincere condolences to Arianne and Mark and family. RIP Ken! Steve Sheridan

My sincere sympathy goes out to all the Carruthers family in their loss. I first met Ken in the fall of 1990 when we went up to meet the Carruthers' as my sister, Deanna, was to marry James in 1991. I quickly saw him as a fine hard working and dedicated man. I admired most of all his unwavering dedication to his parents; the mark of a true human being. May wonderful memories fill your hearts with peace and may God bless you all as you grieve your loss.
Sincerely, Alan W. Mersereau
(Deanna Carruthers' brother in New Brunswick)

Even though Ken was 9 years younger than myself, he always strove to keep up. For example, at age 6, he could drive the Farmall A all by himself. At 11, he outshot the men at trap shooting at the Ekfrid Gun Club, with his single shot Cooey 12 gauge shotgun. At 15, even before he had his driver's license, he owned and rode a Harley Davidson XLCH Sportster motorcycle. Before he was married, he owned a Corvette and a Trans AM Firebird. He indeed was a challenging baby brother to keep up with.
Ken was a generous and giving person, both with his time and finances. His ready wit and outgoingness always added to family gatherings. His dedication to our parents' needs in their later years was another of his many admirable traits.
