Obituary of Jeffrey John Slater

SLATER, Jeffrey

Peacefully at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton Alberta, formerly of Rodney Ontario, surrounded by love, Jeffrey John Slater on February 8, 2022, at the age of 59.

Loving husband for 35 years to his “sweetie pie” Michelle.  Amazing father and hero to Katie Slater of Guelph, Kyle Slater (Brittany) of Elk Point Alberta, and Kelsey Slater Ridgetown.  Doting Bup of Elliot.

Son of Jack (2018) and Dorothy (2012) Slater, and “little brother” of Karry (Allan) Howard of Wardsville and Dan (Deb) Slater of London.  “Favourite Son in law” of Roma and Bertha Prudhomme of Dorchester, brother in law of Andre (Rose Ann) Prudhomme and Daniel (Laura) Prudhomme all of Thamesford.

 The love and support of his family was never ending.  Jeff proudly served as a volunteer firefighter, serving his community for 32 years, beginning as a firefighter and promoting through the ranks to the position of Fire Chief.  Jeff left a lasting impression on all who met him. His genuine kindness and unselfishness will be remembered by all who knew him.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1251 Dundas Street, London, Friday March 4, 2022 at 11am.  Reception to follow at  Dorchester Optimist Hall, 1653 Richmond St, Dorchester.

 In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to London Health Sciences Child Life department.
